Veterans Retreat Altcar & kindergarten food program in Kenya

I am 69 years old ex Royal Artillery. I would like to raise much needed funds for Altcar Camp retreat. They have pods for wounded, sick service personnel and veterans who can take some rest bite and recovery. The pods are in desperate need of some maintenance. Which will be done by volunteers.

My wife and I also run a food program in Kenya. We go every year and the kindergarten we support in Kilifi only survives on donations. Which is down to Trish and myself. We go ourselves to the wholesalers and get the five staple food products: Rice, Maize, Beans, Flour and Oil. This makes a meal called ugali. Very stodgy but it is the only meal these children will get. In the past we have managed to get between 6/8 months of food. It would be huge if we could one year get them 12 months of food.

I am going to try and raise some funds by doing a Camino. A Camino is a pilgrimage walk, in Spain. I will be walking the last 100 miles of the La Plata, The Silver Way. This Camino starts in Seville and as with most Camino’s finishes in Santiago de Compostela in northern Spain. I will be giving myself one week to complete.
