Veteran’s Family Crisis: Post Amputation & New Cancer Spread

Michael Rose is more than a husband, father, and friend — he’s a proud U.S. Army Combat Veteran and my battle buddy. We stood side by side in uniform, and now I’m standing beside him in a different fight — one for his life.
Just a few short months ago, Michael noticed what seemed to be a simple swelling in his leg. That swelling turned out to be a rare and aggressive cancer called rhabdomyosarcoma. Within weeks, the tumor had wrapped itself around his bone and muscle, forcing doctors to make the devastating decision to amputate his leg below the knee.
The surgery went as well as any that leaves somebody without a limb, but Michael’s spirit remained strong. He fought through the pain, stayed hopeful, and focused on healing for his wife Brittany and their children. But now, the unthinkable has happened — doctors have discovered a new 12-inch tumor in his stomach.
This is more than a medical crisis — it’s a financial one. The months of treatments, surgeries, and hospital stays have left the family with no income and mounting expenses. Michael is unable to work, Brittany has been at his side full-time, and the bills are piling up — from rent and utilities to food, gas for hospital trips, and medical costs the VA can only cover so much.
Michael has sacrificed for this country. He’s the kind of man who would give you the shirt off his back without a second thought. Now, he needs us — his brothers and sisters, his community — to help him fight.
Every donation will go directly to helping the Rose family cover:
• Rent and basic living expenses
• Travel and lodging for treatments
• Medical bills not covered by VA
• Childcare and household needs during this fight
If you can’t donate, please share this page with others. Every share, every prayer, and every word of encouragement helps.
Michael is a fighter — he’s already proven that. But even the strongest warriors need backup. Let’s show this family they are not alone in this battle.
Please give what you can, share widely, and help Mike Rose keep fighting.
