Veteran in need; hurricane Ida flooded me out!
Hi, my name is Rich and my life was severely impacted by Hurricane Ida on Sept 1st. The river hit historic levels beyond anyone's imagination. It was the highest water level experienced in over a hundred years. My cottage that sat on the Brandywine river in Pennsylvania is completely destroyed, and with it all of my worldly possessions. It is a total loss. I need to find a new place to live (on higher ground) and replace everything, from my truck to my tooth brush.
About me:
I'm currently working as an electrician in the Philadelphia area.
I work part time occasional at an animal shelter - it keeps me centered.
I'm a Navy Veteran, Naval Hospital Corpsman.
-I served at NARMC Pensacola, Fl (early 1980s)
-I served with 2nd Mar Div BLT 1/8 and 10th Marines (mid 1980s)
I rented the property and am not covered by disaster insurance. I set my goal so I can purchase a reliable vehicle for work, rent another home, replace work clothes, and get back on track. Any amount is deeply appreciated.
God bless you.
The home was ripped off its foundation and floated 30 feet. I'm blessed that a tree kept it from being swept down river and I was able to recover some of my heirlooms and memory memorabilia.
