Veteran Forced to Move Out of Apt
Donation protected
Hi. My name is Beth. I'm a Navy Veteran, disabled and am being forced to move from my apartment.
A few weeks ago I was told I had to move out of my apt because the apt complex has a new financing contract and will no longer take vouchers from subsidized housing. I have mine through HUD and the VA. I have until the end of June to move. It's a shame the corporate office is doing this so they can make more money on my apt. Pure greed.
Because this news came out of nowhere, I have nothing saved in the bank. I will need money for the application fee, security deposit and whatever else the new place will charge as well as packing supplies and a small U-HAUL truck rental.
I don't have a place right yet so I don't know exactly how much I will need, but, if there is a place that I'm interested in, I need to have the money available. My VA counselor is working to find me another apartment but it's a slow process and time is ticking down.
The most frustrating part of this is
I am physically unable to do anything right now. I have back problems coupled with excruciating back spasms. I will have to rely totally on friends to pack, move, unpack and set up my new apt. This is my first move where I haven't been able to do anything myself.
Any help you can give me will be greatly appreciated.
