Vet bills for Cerberus

Spende geschützt
Hello. My best friend Cerberus has passed. He was brought to the vet in January because he was throwing up daily. His bloodwork came back normal and he was given antibiotics and medicine and we went home. Nothing changed from the medicine but with some time he seemed to have gotten better. Around two weeks ago he started again, it wasn't bad but started getting worse. We brought him to the vet again on March 14th and the vet heard some wheezing in the lungs but was 90 % positive that he would get better with another type of antibiotics. After that he stopped eating and wasn't seeming to be doing well. I brought him in on Sunday morning because he was having fits of breathing trouble and wasn't able to throw anything up. The vet said it was very serious. He was going to stay there on IV fluids and antibiotics as well as do blood tests and x-rays. The vet called a couple hours later saying he has a lot of levels that were too high, his white blood cells were too high meaning infection, his kidney levels were showing kidney failure. The x-rays showed that he had developed something called megaesophagus which means his esophagus was enlarged and wasn't properly moving food and fluids into his stomach, so he would regurgitate and things would go into his lungs, which caused him to have aspiration pneumonia. We went in to see Cerberus and to talk with the doctor. He said it wasn't looking good but that we should keep him on fluids and antibiotics to see if his levels return to normal which we agreed. I called on Monday morning to see how he was doing and the vet said he seemed to be doing worse and to come in. We went in again to talk about things. All though he was weak, he stilled seemed to be fighting and it didn't look like his time was done. We agreed with keeping him another night to check his levels again on Tuesday morning. Later Monday evening around 9:10 pm we got a call saying they did a blood panel and his levels seemed to be returning to normal, kidneys, blood cell, liver, all seemed to be getting better. I was in disbelief and thrilled. Then around 9:20pm I got another call saying that Cerb stopped breathing and that they were doing CPR. We left immediately but by the time we got there he had passed. They said that they tried everything but couldn't bring him back. I am truly truly crushed and I will not be the same person without him. I feel like a piece of me is gone. We had 8 amazing years together and I tried to fill it with as much love and adventure as I could.

All though he has passed the bills are still here, and I cant do it by myself. With the initial bills and the bills from the emergency and the private cremation it has come out to around 2300. If there is any way that I can get any help at all to bring this down I would be so incredibly grateful and appreciative. If I had the money I wouldn't be doing this but I'm already trying to get out of debt. I'm not looking for it all but whatever I can get will help. If somehow this goes any higher than Cerbs vet bills, I will donate to another dog in need of funds for surgery. Thank you for taking the time to read this regardless. I truly appreciate everyone's kind words in this very hard time. He was an incredible dog and he will be incredibly missed.
