Vet Nurse Awareness Month - Ullswater Way Charity Walk
Donation protected
May is Veterinary Nurse Awareness month and members of the practice team at Frame & Swift Vets are planning a 20 mile charity walk along the Ullswater Way on 18thMay.
We are hoping to raise funds for The Brain Tumour Charity and Penrith and District Red Squirrel Group.
Katie, one of our nurses, was diagnosed with a brain tumour after a routine eye test. Katie was a big part of the practice, always bright and bubbly with a contagious smile - you may have seen the tree we planted for her outside the practice which has recently been covered in blossom. After a long battle with the disease, Katie passed away in 2021, cutting short a promising career as a Veterinary Nurse. The Brain Tumour Charity supports everyone affected by this disease.
Red squirrels are under serious threat of extinction but The Penrith and District Red Squirrel Group aim to protect them and their environment and increase their numbers in our area. At the surgery, we have been tasked with treating injured or sick red squirrels before sending them for rehabilitation and re-release by this charity.
Every donation will truly make a difference to these two charities and your support, no matter how big or small, will help us to push through those 20 miles and give back to these important causes.
Many thanks,
Team Frame and Swift
