My Son Karl did 3 tours while serving in the Army, he went to Iraq 2 times and Afghanistan 1 time.

A Purple Heart Recipient he is a great son, terrific dad to his 2 kids, loving grandson, chill big bro, good friend, cousin, uncle, employeee.

On 2 May he was shot 9 times with an AK47 coming home from work walking up his driveway talking to his roommate who was sitting on the porch and was also hit 5 times!!!  My son is critical condition  in the ICU, he has had 3 surgeries and will be having 2 more.

This Veteran who fought for his country was shot by the very people he was protecting, giving them the very rights and freedoms that they hold dear.

Karl's right knee cap was shot off, he was shot in his left leg 3 times causing it to be broke in 3 different areas, shot in his right ankle, his chest piercing his lung, his back and buttocks. He was in surgery 5 hours that evening for his best chance of survival and movement of his arms and hands, he may be paralyzed below the waist. Karl is a strong young man with incredible faith, a wonderful family and friends to help him recover.

According to the Dana and Christopher Reeve Foundation, the average expense for the first year with high tetraplegia can be about 1 million dollars and with low tetraplegia, about $347,000. This was stated in 2016, and we know how much medical expenses went up last year.  We are hoping that he will recieve some of his therapy from the VA, but there are things he will need once he comes home to have a better quality of life.

Karl's road ahead is long, and very expensive. Supporting Karl with whatever you can give and help relieve the financial burden would be greatly appreciated. With financial assistance, Karl and his family can focus on his rehab and getting healthy and strong.
