Help Kampot Dog Sanctuary Clear Our Vet Debt

Every single day, the Kampot Dog Sanctuary takes care of over 70 dogs — dogs abandoned, broken, infected, or abused. We believe every one of them deserves love, safety, and a chance at the good life.

But behind each rescue is a growing reality:

we owe a mounting debt to our incredible veterinary partners who make our work possible.

Our total bills exceed $10,000

❤️ Our Partners in Care

Animal Mama (Phnom Penh)

When emergencies strike — severe infections, deep wounds, cancers, broken bones — we rely on the incredible team at Animal Mama, Cambodia’s leading veterinary hospital. Their world-class care has saved countless animals lives, and even as our debt grows, they have never once turned a dog away. From new rescues to sanctuary residents their compassion and skill are the reason so many dogs are still alive today.

Why We Need Your Help

This fundraiser has one clear purpose:

To pay our outstanding veterinary debts to Animal Mama, ensuring we can continue to provide medical care for dogs in need.

Every donation made will go directly toward vet invoices — not general expenses — and can be fully receipted and tracked.

This helps us maintain complete transparency.

By helping us clear this debt, you are:

Thanking the vets who have stood by us when we couldn’t afford to pay.

Ensuring no future rescue is turned away due to cost

Directly funding medical care that saves dogs' lives

All funds will be paid directly to Animal Mama.

How You Can Help

Donate what you can — every contribution counts.

Share this fundraiser with friends, family, and animal lovers.

Together, we can lift this burden, honour our partners, and give more dogs the care and future they deserve clearing the already generously discounted services extended to our sanctuary.

Thank you for standing with us, for believing in kindness, and for being part of our pack. ❤️

A word about Yulia

Yulia Khouri is the founder of Animal Mama, and since the beginning of her time here in Cambodia, she has worked directly and personally in the care and rescue of animals. From 2010 she worked tirelessly as a one woman operation. Seeing that, with the right facilities and guidance, a veterinary clinic of world-class calibre could truly help the animals of Cambodia, in 2016 she set to work building this now thriving service.

Her personal connections with animal rescuers such as Joe Pitman — or Pu Joe, as many people know him — have been priceless. Her generosity in extending credit, and her resistance to “convenient euthanasia,” mean that animals who may not have had a second chance are now healed and living happy lives.

Beyond her work in the clinic, Joe has expressed that without Yulia’s friendship and personal support during difficult times, he may not have had the strength to continue this mission.

All this is to say that Yulia is truly a kind and exceptional person. Clearing this debt now would mean a lot to us, as it would repay her in a time when she, too, is vulnerable and recovering — with a determined spirit — from cancer.

We love you, Yulia, and thank you. ❤️

Please note: the amounts owing are expressed in USD and the fundraiser is in GBP as I am a UK citizen, international donations are still valid and extremely welcome.

All funds will be converted and transferred directly to pay the veterinary bills
