Hi my name is Carly and I am a proud cat mom to a beautiful Russian Blue boy named Vlad.

This past week has been one of the hardest of my life. Vlad suddenly developed a life threatening urinary blockage that stopped him from being able to pee. He was rushed to Burrard Animal Hospital where he was sedated and his bladder was flushed. He came home for a short time but the blockage quickly returned and he had to be hospitalized again.

An ultrasound showed no stones in his bladder but his catheter kept getting blocked. The vets now strongly recommend a perineal urethrostomy surgery which will create a wider opening so he can pee safely. Without this surgery the risk of another life threatening blockage is very high.

The total cost is now over $8000 including the first emergency visits, several days of hospitalization and the upcoming surgery. I have used the last of my available credit after consolidating debt and facing months of financial strain from Covid, the film industry strike, moving on my own in Vancouver and Vlad’s 1st hospitalization this week .

It takes a lot of humility to ask for help and I never imagined being in this position but I am desperate to give Vlad the care that will save his life. Any contribution or simply sharing this page would mean so much and will go directly toward Vlad’s hospital stay and surgery so he can come home healthy and safe.
