Vet care for Samson

Hello,

I don't normally do this, but my name is Amber and I rescue cats locally. I mainly take sick or injured cats, so most of them need urgent vet care. This old feller, (Samson is what we are calling him) came to me unexpectedly last night and is in need of immediate care.

We currently have 18 cats we care for due to the fact that Dent county has no shelter that accepts felines, and I don't have the heart to turn away an animal in this condition.

Samson saw Dr. Gabby at Noah's Ark this morning and was put on amoxicillin for a severe respiratory infection. Because he hasn't been able to groom himself in so long, his entire body is covered in mats that are 1 to 2 in thick, some bigger. Most of his teeth are rotten, and are going to have to be surgically removed. Samson goes back to the vet Thursday morning to be put under, and he will be neutered, his whole body will be shaved, and he will have his infected teeth removed. Dr Gabby said if we don't get the mats off, that we will have to worry about maggots getting under them.

This is not something I had planned for as he came to me unexpectedly, so if anyone could find it in their hearts to donate and help with his vet cost, it would be greatly appreciated. It will get paid for either way.. I always make sure my rescues get proper care no matter what I have to do, but I figured I would see if anyone wants to help this big guy.

If there is any money over and above his vet cost, it will be used for vet care for another rescue.
