Vet Bills for River
My name is Dietrich Orion, and I've been couch hopping for about four months now, because my lease ended and I no longer have roommates, nor do I have any money. I work full time, but my money is sunk into bills and my car and food. All the people I've been staying with have been able to house me, but not my dog, River, so she has been staying at a kennel during this rough patch.
About a week ago the kennel owner texted me telling me that River had started limping and that it wasn't getting any better, so I picked her up and brought her over to the vet.
Turns out, River has partially torn the ligament in her back right knee. She is an excellent candidate for surgery to repair it, because she is young and athletic.
My current options are a $2500 surgery, or to get her a leg brace to keep her leg stabilized and allow her ligament to heal up on its own. The brace would have to be a custom make, and would cost between $700 and $900.
My goal is to get her the leg brace, but if I could get her the surgery it would be much better long run, as the brace doesn't gaurantee that she won't need surgery down the line.
Any money I raise will be going to the brace and to vet bills, or to the surgery itself. If there is anything left over, I'd use it to pay the kennel for her stay their, as I haven't been able to that down much at this point.
I adopted river at 8 weeks old from the ASPCA, and she has been by my side for almost four years now. She keeps me stable when I'm at my lowest points and she means the world to me. I hate seeing her in pain, and I hate not being there for her while I try to find us a place to live.
Anyone who knows me knows how hard it is for me to ask for help, but I'm desparate at this point. Anything helps, if I can get her the brace that would be huge, and would help her start to heal up.
I am not the best artist, but I'd be more than happy to make something for you as a thanks for donating.
Thank you for taking the time to read this, and thank you so much if you donate or spread the word.
