Vet bills & car repairs post-covid
My 2018 Ford Escape had its engine go out in May after owning it for only 10 months. On July 6th, it was confirmed that I need to pay $3000 to have it repaired. Only a few hours later, I had to rush my cat, Leila, to MSU emergency vet for pyometra. This is an aggressive infection of the uterus. The only option is surgery to remove it, and they estimated it to be $4000-$6000. Luckily, my local vet is going to be way cheaper, but I will still be paying around $1000 to get her taken care of when all bills are paid for.
All of this is money I do not have saved up.
The recent months have hit our family very hard. In November, my boyfriend was involved in a hit and run in which his car was completely totaled and the other driver took off and was never located. I commute to Grandville every day for work, so we had been doing the single car life until March, when we inherited a 94 LeBaron. This car is also on its last leg, but the issue at hand is getting mine fixed so we have a reliable vehicle for us to pick up my boyfriend’s 9 year old daughter.
Covid-19 took us both off of work, and we used the extra income to pay off debts that we’ve had for a very long time. Now, the amount of money we are facing is more than the previous debts. In order to move closer to my work to get ahead, we need to get all of this stuff taken care of and we just need some help.
Anything given will be going towards getting this car repair paid off, and towards vet bills for Leila, and anything left over will be put towards getting our puppy neutered at the end of August.
Everything little bit helps. I have been too proud and stubborn to ask for help until we are in dire need, and that is where we sit.
