I've created this GoFundMe on behalf of our friend Megan and her cat Fig.
While Megan was visiting her family in BC this week Fig started to show signs of distress. After two vet visits, Fig lost all use of his limbs and was almost completely limp, leading to a visit to the emergency vet. Because he was in such bad shape, the ER suggested keeping him in overnight. They aren't sure what is wrong and will need a full neurology consult and testing to figure out what is wrong. So far, the vet has said it could be an infection or a local toxin or it could be something as terminal as cancer. They don't have any information yet and its going to be costly to investigate.
Our hope is to raise some funds to support Megan in finding out what is going on with her feline companion. Vets, especially emergency vets, can be stressful and costly. The unexpected financial hit can be scary and can limit getting the best care our pet friends need and deserve. As a student, Megan doesn't have the financial cushion to take on this cost easily.
We are hoping to raise some funds to help her take care of some of Fig's initial ER fees. No donation is too small and everything will go directly to Fig's vet bills. Even if you can't afford to contribute financially, please consider sharing this. She also wanted to make sure noone feels pressured to donate. Megan is currently focused on giving Fig the best care she can but will be finding a way to thank everyone personally in the future and is greatful for your support. Thank you!
