Hi, my name is Sydney and I am a proud dog mom of a 10-year-old corgi named Daisy. We found Daisy as a stray 6 years ago and she has been a part of our family ever since. If you've ever had the chance to meet her, you know she's the sweetest pup in the world!
About a month ago, we found out that Daisy had developed a rectal mass that began to protrude outside of her body. Her primary vet collected cell samples from the mass and determined it to be a "mast cell tumor". Mast cell tumors are caused by an overgrowth of white blood cells and are quite serious when found in dogs. These types of tumors are cancerous, aggressive, and if left untreated can lead to death.
Daisy received the specialized surgery needed to remove the tumor Tuesday, January 10th. Everything went extremely well and she is resting at home! Metro Animal Hospital in Akron took very good care of my baby.
As with any sort of medical or surgery bills, the accumulation of debt has been overwhelming for me this past month. I am a full-time grad student working as a server on the weekends who is barely able to make ends meet as is. With this unexpected event, I have been put in a very tough situation money-wise. I am doing the best I can to pick up extra shifts serving, babysitting, petsitting, and Door Dashing but it's very challenging during the semester with a full course load and client list. I am not expecting much from creating this GoFundMe, but ANY extra funds will help lessen this burden (even if it's just $1.)
Please consider donating/sharing this page! Any help is greatly appreciated and will be put toward paying off the debt I have accumulated to pay for Daisy's surgery and vet bills. Thank you for reading this and have a blessed day!
