Vesta Richardson Memorial
Donation protected
I met Vesta (Lynne at the time) likely in 2001. I was living in a house full of the most welcoming, funny, artistic/musical folks I had ever met. We became fast friends and family. We worked, lived and played together. Vesta was a light: happy, smiling, laughing. She was friend to many. She and Noah married and had their dear son Henry in Portland and shortly moved to Oakland/Roseburg, Oregon, where Desmond was born. The Richardson's moved to Texas to be with Vesta's family and then to Alabama to be with Noah's family. Though we hadn't physically seen each other in years, our framily ties remain. Vesta's passing is a shock to all and a reminder of the importance and sanctity of deep love for friends who are family.
This fundraiser is both for Vesta's celebration of life and support for Noah and his sons as they navigate this new life together. The following was posted by Noah:
It is with great sadness I must tell you all that Vesta Richardson died last night suddenly. It may have been a heart attack. She died here at home. She was the one person who made me a better man, loved people and life. Her smile and laugh.....I am. Broken now. I will heal. I am at the crossroads of infinity.
May we all remember her as the beautiful girl in the world that she was.
Vesta, my sweet, I'll take you with me for the rest of my life.
