Cancer- what an ugly word. An even uglier disease.
Hello, my name is Sara and this GoFundme has been set up for my dear cousin Veronica ("Roni"). Roni is a mother to four beautiful children, 3 boys & 1 princess. Roni left the Bay Area and bought a house in Nebraska where she attended school to become a registered nurse, all the while working throughout her schooling.

Early-mid 2016, Roni noticed she was becoming more and more tired. In August 2016, Roni was sleeping 16-20 hours a day and began having difficulty swallowing- she went to the doctor at that time.
Doctors initial thought was narcolepsy, which was quickly proved incorrect by the ultrasound that showed masses/tumors in in her throat. Roni was sent to an otolaryngologist (ear, nose & throat doctor) for follow-up. A MRI was also performed and the results showed a tumor on her pituitary gland in addition to the ones in her neck.
After being told that the tumors were "nothing to worry about" by one doctor, Veronica went and presented her condition to a different doctor who stated that they "need to come out now."
Veronica had her entire thyroid and five tumors removed. Then came the next blow – All five tumors were cancerous. What were the odds? According to some of her doctors, 1%. We, including the doctors, were optimistic since they took out her entire thyroid.

October 24, 2016 – After ONE day back at work, Veronica received a call from the Oncologist. Her blood tests came back showing cancer- papillary carcinoma.
Veronica has been off work for three weeks to date- doctors estimate her needing a few more. Since she is new at her job, she has no sick time.
With everything going on, the last thing she needs to worry about is food for her family.

Thank you, in advance, for your contribution, share, prayer or positive vibes.
Will update as updates are received.
