Hi my name is Breanna and my mother was a Registered Nurse at AdventHealth for over 10 years until she caught COVID-19 in September 2021.

She was hospitalized on 9/5/21-9/29/21 for COVID, just 2 weeks later she was hospitalized Again for Multiple blood clots in her lungs which came from COVID as per her doctors. She was intubated placed on a vent to breath and was in a Coma for over a month. The doctors informed us that my mom was not going to make it so we moved her to a bigger hospital and by the grace of God she pulled through.

After waking up she struggled for months just trying to perform basic tasks, Any activity would drop her oxygen to the 70’s like going to the bathroom which requires her to be on 5L of oxygen to stay above 88%. (Normal oxygen 95-100%)

We were informed that she had really bad Lung scarring which caused Pulmonary Fibrosis. My mother told us that something still isn’t right that her nursing senses is telling her there’s something else wrong with her, so her doctors were performing all kinds of tests, procedures, and blood work to try and find out why her oxygen was so low and why it would not stay up while on oxygen.

Finally in April we got some answers my mother was diagnosed with Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension, which has a life expectancy of 5-7 years but doctors have been Wrong before.

Sadly in March of 2022 my mother was separated from AdventHealth payroll by no choice of her own. Luckily we have insurance but 20% for Copays and Therapy and medications adds up quickly. All PAH medications are very expensive and my mother is on Tyvaso. Every single doctor I have taken her to see has recommended Aquatic Therapy for her condition. I am asking that you help my mom whom has helped so many people throughout her nursing career get the care she desperately needs.
