UPDATED: Hello friends.
I am currently dealing with unplanned medical fees from my first surgery. I required an unplanned urgent hospital admission post mastectomy for pain control. I was in the hospital for a total of 4 days. I have attempted to dispute these charged but insurance is not covering this care.
June 5th, 2023 will be my reconstructive surgery. I am scarred about the recovery. I am scared about the pain. But I am hopeful that this will finally help me feel better about my chest.
I am here to humbly ask for any help you can offer to assist in covering these medical fees from my double mastectomy.
No amount is to small. I have so much love for everyone who has been here for me and I want to thank you ahead of time. THANK YOU. THANK YOU. THANK YOU! Please share this if you can. Anything will help. ❤️✨
Background: I am a carrier of BRCA-1 and BRCA-2 genetic mutations. These mutations increase the probability of developing aggressive breast, ovarian and melanoma cancers. I was given the heartbreaking prognosis of, “It’s not a matter of IF, it’s a matter of WHEN you will get cancer Veronica.” It felt like a death sentence. Given my high probability of developing breast and/or ovarian cancer, I knew the journey would not be easy to prevent this fate. It involved breast exams, mammograms, MRIs, ultrasounds, skin exams, screenings, doctor and therapy appointments became my new normal.
