Hello! My name is Sabrina, and I am a recent college grad and first-year teacher. My senior cat, Vern, was recently hospitalized due to urinary tract issues. We discovered that he had developed Feline Lower Urinary Tract Disease, or FLUTD, and, as a result, needed immediate treatment for a urinary blockage.
If you are unfamiliar with these issues: they quickly become fatal for cats if not treated, so we had to act immediately.
Vern is still in the hospital. He is recovering well (and making the whole vet staff swoon), but the chances of him having another blockage are now dangerously high. At any point after bringing him back home, he could become blocked again. Our only option for long-term treatment is a surgery called Perineal Urethrostomy, or PU, which typically runs around $3500.
I have had Vern for nearly 4 years now. He is so full of love and life, and he is my family. I cannot imagine life without him, which is why I am asking for your help. Every donation or share will get us closer to providing Vern with the care that he needs. Thank you for reading this!
