Vern Pollitt has endured the unimaginable: he returned home after work on June 3 to find his 23-year-old son Kyle dead on his living room sofa. Vern’s wife is in the ICU, unable to process Kyle’s death, unwilling to eat, incapable of going back to the house that was formerly their home.

Vern has been dealt another blow by his insurance company. He believed his policy would cover the cost of Kyle’s funeral arrangements – nearly $10,000 – but they do not. So compounding the tragedy of burying his child, Vern has found himself strapped with funeral expenses he cannot pay.
Vern’s fellow employees have raised $700 to help him. Beyond funeral expenses, he will have his bills from his wife’s stay in the ICU. Vern has been broken by his circumstances, and needs our help.
