Hello, I’m Jessie and on August 1st, a massive wildfire tore through my family’s residential park and burned down everything. My brother has completely lost his home, and my parents have been displaced due to the fire, also losing many
of their possessions and tools,
Hundreds of people lost everything and are currently living in their cars at KalTire Place. They will not be able to return to assess the damage until Westside Rd is reopened. Even those whose homes survived are left without power, gas, and water.
Because of the area, so many residents could not afford the high rates on fire insurance and are now left to rebuild with nothing. We are hoping gather some funds to disperse among the community for things like hotels, food, drinking water, clothes, and any living essentials while they are displaced.
We will be going to Kaltire Place, as well as other locations where displaced residents have found shelter, and asking evacuees what they need for hygiene, health, and comfort. With our donations we will be able to buy some of these essentials and disperse them throughout the community. Most evacuees could only grab a handful of possessions before leaving, so they may be in need of clothing items and under garments.
If we are able to reach our goals, our hope is to be able to fund hotel stays or gym day passes so evacuees are able to shower and rest.
Thank you for your consideration and generosity. We ask that you keep them in your thoughts.
