In Loving Memory of Vernon Marcaida

Hello all, my name is Vanah Marie. It is with a heavy heart that I’m announcing the passing of my older brother, Vernon Marcaida, on December 8, 2023.

Vernon wore many hats. (and ties. and polos.) He is a son, a brother, a cousin, a nephew, an uncle, a coach, a teacher, a coworker, a classmate, and most of all— a friend. He was the bridge between so many connections.

Vernon thrived with the mentorship and support within his communities growing up— St. Thomas More Elementary School, his Crusader brotherhood at Riordan High School and Kairos and Life Team, friends he made along the way at City College of San Francisco, Skyline College and the Cipher program, and San Francisco State University where he eventually majored in BECA- Broadcast and Electronic Communication Arts.

His passion in teaching afforded him many opportunities of doing what he loved— he often volunteered his time in youth programs, coaching and refereeing youth sports. He achieved his dream role at Stratford School as a Computer Science Teacher and Multimedia Content Creator.

He put his own way of love into everything he did for others. He spread his light in every direction he could, through humor, his obnoxiously loud ring tones, and through his interactions with each person. He was so loved and appreciated, and made a profound impact.

On behalf of our family, we are asking for your love and support during this difficult time. As you can imagine, we were not prepared for this sudden heartbreaking occurrence. We want to celebrate Vernon's life in the way he deserves to be celebrated, and with your help we can make that happen. All funds will be used to put Vernon to rest peacefully as well as offer support to our mom, Connie.

Vernon leaves behind his loving mom, Connie Marcaida, and his siblings, Verner S. Marcaida, Vanessa Marcaida Abuan, Verne Marcaida, and Vanah Marie Marcaida.

Thank you all so much for being a part of Vernon's life. He is no longer suffering, and is now reunited with our dad in heaven, Verner R. Marcaida.
