I’m Vermont! I’ve been openly transgender for 7+ years, and every single day since middle school, I wake up thinking about how significantly my life would be improved if I could afford top surgery.
I’ve spent somewhere around 2,578 days wearing a chest binder to compress my chest and make it ever so slightly less noticeable. It’s not comfortable. It doesn’t even work particularly well. I can’t spend another Texas summer wearing sweaters, and hoodies trying to conceal my chest in 100+ degree heat when I’d rather be wearing something fun and weather appropriate.
My family is not supportive of my identity, so I won’t be receiving any help from them, and my health insurance considers transgender surgeries to be cosmetic, and therefore unnecessary. Any help at all is so, so appreciated.
Your friend,
Vermont
xoxo
