Hello, my name is Ana and I am fundraising for Vermont Mahayana Retreat 2025.

I was born in one of beautiful islands of Cabo verde. Growing up in those island known by their "Morabeza" amability to receive people, Buddhism Dharma was not heard about, but, I was longing to hear it . I moved to the United States to study and soon enough, obstacles were shown to be inevitable. Without a close family to rely on, giving up was not an option either, friends were my support. As I was struggling with separation anxiety, cultural shock and language barrier, even so I took refuge in the three jewels.

Today I work as assisting many to overcome the language barrier difficulties so they can thrive. I volunteer also for dharma teachings but still rely on the goodwill of others. Despite hard work and generosity, attending retreats like this can be financially challenging.

I need your support to be able to attend teachings, studies and retreats.

I’m reaching out to ask for your support, hoping to attend a Mahayana and Retreat in Vermont this year. This retreat is an incredible opportunity to deepen my practices and continue my spiritual journey, a path that has been profoundly meaningful to me since I was first introduced to meditation and Dharma in 2010.

The total cost for the retreat, including travel, lodging, food, and liturgies, is around $1,500. This is where I’m hoping we can come together to help make this plan a reality.

It is said that it is a fortunate situation to encounter this precious opportunity to study dharma in a sangha with the guidance of a skillful teacher nowadays.

For me, this retreat is more than just an event; it’s a chance to grow, to learn, and to connect with the teachings in a supportive community that sustain studies. I know how much this experience would mean to me, and any contribution, no matter how small, would make a huge difference.
