The Veritus Hope Fund - Help Save a Healthcare Hero's Life

There is a pandemic within the pandemic. Our healthcare heroes are in crisis. COVID-19 has caused unbearable levels of trauma, compassion fatigue, and exhaustion in the medical community. Substance abuse and suicide rates are skyrocketing. 

Healthcare professionals are reluctant, even afraid to seek treatment because of the stigma and shame associated with mental health issues, fear of losing their license and the sheer cost of treatment. Many healthcare professionals struggle to afford it.

Your tax-deductible contribution will help the Veritus Hope Fund eliminate the barriers that prevent healthcare professionals from getting the help they need by providing world-class accessible, confidential, and convenient care, and financial assistance to pay for that care.

How We Do It: Veritus is a telehealth intensive outpatient program exclusively for healthcare professionals struggling with substance use disorders, underlying mental health issues, and trauma. Freedom Institute, the renowned New York City non-profit outpatient treatment center, founded in 1976, created Veritus at the onset of the pandemic to offer innovative, modern-day solutions for healthcare professionals seeking treatment. 

The pandemic may be easing, but the long-term mental health effects on our healthcare heroes will persist unless they are urgently addressed. Think about a healthcare worker who has made a difference in your or a loved one’s life. Now they need YOUR help. It is OUR turn to help these heroes heal from the devastating effects of the pandemic. 

We will be working with GoFundMe.org as our fiscal sponsor. 

 - Our initial fundraising goal of $250,000 will benefit healthcare professionals who need financial assistance to pay for the Veritus treatment program

 - $6,000 will pay for one month of treatment for an individual

 Your donation will restore the life of a healthcare professional who is struggling with alcohol, drugs, trauma, and mental health.
