Verified PLEASE HELP NEW ORLEANS

I’m sure you all know that New Orleans was just hit by a devastating hurricane, Ida. It hit on the 16th anniversary of Hurricane Katrina.

What you might not know is that I grew up in New Orleans, and I was a Katrina refugee. I left the day before the storm hit when the Major came on TV and said this was the worst case scenario, and that if you don’t leave you could die.

The four hour drive to Houston took 24hrs. It was a terrible experience and my family and I lost almost every worldly possession.

I feel for the people still in New Orleans. My 93 year old grandfather is trapped there, along with all my old friends and neighbors.

16 years ago I could barely even help myself, but now, I am in a much different situation. @Redcon1 has the means and the desire to help.

I want to charter a jet full of badly needed supplies and send it to New Orleans. I wanted to see if anyone would like to help by providing goods to load the plane with, and I also need some boots on the ground in NOLA to help distribute the food.
