Verena Strohmeyer Medical and Living expenses

Hey friends and family, Matt here. Some know and some don't but, on February 3rd my mom suffered a heart attack and was thankfully rushed to the ER quickly by my sister Emily. That being said our mother has been in the hospital ever since. At first, they were very concerned with her blood pressure and the extent of damage done. They lined her up for a Cardiac Cath on Monday, February 6th. That day came and they did the cath but, unfortunately just applying stents to the valves of her heart wouldn't be enough. It would require too many and have a high risk of failing. So then they scheduled her for bypass surgery, (to which I had to ask my Aunt Melissa exactly what that was). Fast forward a week later with a week's worth of bummy hospital "cardiac diet" food and an extended stay at Fort Walton Beach Medical Center and we get to bypass surgery day on Monday, February 13th. Surgery was set for Noon but by then everything was all set and done and my mom's Double bypass procedure turned into a quadruple bypass. Thankfully as of February 16th, she is doing fantastic(besides the food still). She’s still recovering in the CVICU and should be moved soon.

The reason I am making this page, which she will probably smack me for, is that she needs help. All this has happened while she has no insurance and being out of work this long without pay is strenuous and stressful on her and my stepdad Dean. My mother has never once asked for help and was a strong single mother that gave me and my sister a fair shot at life and ALWAYS made ends meet. They are a simple couple that deserve to continue on with the simple life they planned to have. They just want to keep the simple house they bought to retire in and live peacefully. Anything amount of money helps keep this dream alive. Any amount would be greatly appreciated. If that’s not possible ~just a share to raise awareness is perfect! Thank you all!
