Verbier Trail Running Marathon for Finn Wardman

As many of you know, in April 2023, I suffered a serious ski accident on the Italian side of Mont Blanc. While skiing with a close friend and guide, I was caught in an avalanche and sustained significant injuries. It's been a long road to recovery, made possible by the incredible support of my family and friends, outstanding medical care, and a lot of hard work. I'm grateful to be where I am today.
Tragically, that same week, my dear friends Geordie and Kirsten Wardman experienced an unimaginable loss—their eldest son, Finn, died in a horrific accident. Finn was an extraordinary young man who shared a deep passion for the mountains, for adventure, and for forging strong friendships. His zest for life was infectious.
In honour of Finn’s spirit, his parents established the Finn Wardman Explorer Fund—a foundation that offers bespoke bursaries to help young adults pursue their dreams, whether through adventure, sports, or trade skills. It’s a wonderful way to keep Finn’s legacy alive by inspiring others to live boldly and meaningfully, as he did. You can learn more about the fund at Finn Wardman Explorer Fund – finnwardman.com.
On July 12, I’ll be taking on the marathon distance of the UTMB series in Verbier, tackling over 3,000 vertical meters of climbing across a challenging alpine course. The route starts in Bruson, crosses the 3,100-meter Rogneux peak, traverses the Glacier de Corbassière, and finishes back in Verbier—my home mountain terrain. I hope to complete it in around 8 hours.
This race is not just a personal challenge after my accident—it’s also a tribute to Finn. I’ll be running with his memory in my heart, and I hope to raise awareness for the amazing work his Explorer Fund is doing.
Thank you for your support, and please consider sharing or contributing to this meaningful cause.
