Hello, my name is Vera, and I am fundraising for my facial feminization surgery (FFS) which is planned for december this year. I am raising money as I am not able to make it to the finish line by myself, without your help.

I am a 29 years old trans woman living in Sweden, who has been out for 10 years, and medically transitioning for 6 years. I've studied philosophy, and I am currently working as a software engineer. Maybe you have seen me at Reclaim Pride Stockholm, which I have helped organize, using most of my off-work hours. Now, however, I need your support.

FFS is a procedure that changes features on your face to look more feminine. Throughout my transition, hormone replacement therapy (HRT) has been a miracle for alleviating my gender dysphoria, helping me find myself. However, gender dysphoria around my face has been constant, as HRT cannot change the underlying bone structure of the face. This is something that affects me in my day to day life, both externally - in people being more able to see that I am trans, something that keeps on causing hostile interactions in public spaces - but also internally, with not feeling like my face reflects who I should be.

There are a lot of things the swedish healthcare services can help you with (given many years of patience in the queues) - but one thing it won't help with is FFS. The reason they don't is due to lack of resources (which in turn depends on lack of will to invest in trans care). FFS is not covered either by public nor private insurances. Consequently, it is necessary fund for it privately. After extensive research I have decided to go with the wonderful, experienced surgeons at FacialTeam.

I met with FacialTeam when they visited Stockholm two years ago, when I was given a consultation. Seeing what they had been able to do for others, and hearing what they could do for me was life-altering. To know I could live without the aforementioned gender dysphoria is something that truly helps me through the days, hopefully looking forward to december. Something that helped a lot was the digital simulation they did to show what results they can achieve for me. I have included some before/after pictures at the end of the fundraiser.

I have detailed the quote I have been given from them below, alongside the procedures I have been recommended. Overall, this gives me a fundraising goal of 73.000,00 SEK (~6.500,00 EUR, ~5.500,00 GBP, ~7.700,00 USD). Every donation is important, even if you're only able to donate a small amount!
