Imagine one day not being able to; stand, walk, exercise, dance or drive.
Our mother Vera Jackson was a very energetic, vibrant and an active 85-year-old woman. She could out work, out exercise, out dance her children. Vera went to the gym everyday for 4 to 5 hours a day, this was a part of her daily routine for so many years. She is also a member of a line dance group and she enjoyed dancing and socializing with her friends. Dancing and going to the gym were something she loved to do, and it was an important part of her life that she can no longer do.
Vera took on the responsibility of taking care of others; her Aunt, sister, grandchildren, and a host of others who were in need. Anyone that knows Vera, knows that she loves God, family, friends, and people. She is a God-fearing woman holding on to her faith knowing that God is in the healing business.
On Monday December 3rd 2018, Vera had to be transported to the hospital by ambulance, she was experiencing excruciating back pain. She eventually had to have surgery that was scheduled to last for 1 1/2 to 2 hours but, in fact it took 8 hours. As a result, she can’t stand, walk or care for herself. She was not prepared for the awful outcome. Vera and her family are so very devastated. Now she needs 24 hours of care and a customized power wheelchair, a hospital bed and other medical supplies.
Let’s all help raise money needed for Vera as soon as possible. Please donate generously so that she can have some Independence again. Helping with the expenses will help ease the financial burden.
