Cytherean City:Welcome to Venus ISU Board Game

Hello! We’re a team of Master of Space Studies students from the International Space University (ISU) embarking on an ambitious project: creating an educational board game on Venus and space exploration! And today, we’re seeking your help in making our game, Cytherean City: Welcome to Venus to reality and presenting it to the world at this year's 74th International Astronautical Congress.

Our goal is to spark enthusiasm among the general public about Venus and exploring this forgotten world to increase the funding of scientific missions to Venus. We want to create a game that combines fun and social interactions with the real-life challenges of space exploration and the importance of Venus in particular as an exploration destination. Blending education with entertainment can create a unique learning experience that can be played in many different settings and with families and friends across age groups.

Our game is centered around sending missions to establish a human settlement on Venus and the knowledge that can be returned through exploring the hot, alien world. Cytherean City: Welcome to Venus transports you into an alternate reality where the world is racing to be the first to uncover Venus’ mysteries. The game will help you uncover the challenges of exploring our twin planet, and weave together the technological challenges of surviving on the planet, as well as the challenges on Earth that many space missions face today.

That is where you come in, fellow space enthusiasts. We‘ve been invited to present our game at the IAC2023 conference which brings together space professionals from around the world, and we hope to use this as a spring-board to share our game with the broader public! We are incredibly excited to share our game with other space enthusiasts, but we cannot do this without your help.
