Ventura Father & Firefighter unexpectedly passes

It is with great sadness that we are sharing the passing of Micheal Porter, who died unepectedly on Saturday January 22nd, 2022. Mike was a dedicated, loving husband and father to two beautiful girls Adeline 5, and Hazel who turned 3 today. Mike was married to Heather whom together they raised their daughters in a loving Christian home. He worked hard to support his family in a single income household, to give his wife the ability to raise their daughters closely at home while they were young.

Mike started working for the forest service as a seasonal wild land firefighter in 2007. And then worked for many seasons as a permanent firefighter before getting injured on a fire. He then did a lateral transfer into the recreation side for the Ojai Ranger District of the Los Padres National Forest. That was his current position at time of death. 

 

With all of the emotional pain and stress that a death brings, it also brings financial burdens. We are trying to raise money for Heather and their children to help with any costs that will incur and as needed.

We want to help alleviate some of the financial hardship for his wife, Heather Porter and family.

 

It is in these times of loss and sadness when people come together to help one another make it through.
