Earlier this morning Venti went into the vet for a routine visit since she hasn’t been herself lately. A few hours later I got the call that she would have to be rushed down to Portland for emergency surgery on a herniated diaphragm or she probably wouldn’t make it.
For a little back story, before I rescued her from Puerto Rico she was struck by a car which resulted in her shattering her leg, and were now finding out, tearing a small hole in her diaphragm. It had gone unnoticed for so long but according to the vet team it has been slightly tearing more for the last few years. She’s a trooper but without surgery I’m not sure what we’d do.
The surgery and vet bills total around $8,000 which is so unexpected. Any help is so greatly appreciated by venti and me both. I will continue to update here. Her surgery is scheduled for around 7:30 tonight.
