Venezuela Family - HOUSING

Hello Friends:

I am Dana Bryson and my family/community and I are raising funds to help 2 Venezuelan families (5 adults/3 children) who have arrived in Denver from Venezuela seeking political asylum and what they describe as "a better life" for their children.

THE ASK:

We are looking to raise $6500 in a STARTER FUND, which would go towards stable housing and a reliable car so that they can begin their new life here. THE BACKSTORY:

About a month ago we met the Godoy family when they knocked on our door looking to do yard work to earn a living. At that point, they were housed in a hotel nearby, paid for by the City of Denver. Since that time, we have spent many hours/days getting to know them and joining a community of people who are looking to help them to find stable housing, connect them to work, legal support and get their children enrolled in schools.

This family is close knit, industrious and hard working. They are independent and self-reliant and they have never requested nor expected any financial assistance, even when they needed to sleep outside in a tent.

It is clear with their work ethic and values that if they are able to get stable housing (especially together) that they would be on a path to be independent in this country. They are following the legal process and are taking all appropriate actions towards lawful status in the US, with immigration court dates in 2024.

They secured an old car, which they use to get to work/jobs, mostly in construction/carpentry, which was their profession in Venezuela. We have identified a wonderful housing option for them, which would allow them to all live together, and they need a little support to get moved into and make initial payments for this house, upgrade to a reliable car to get to work/school.
