Hola, mi nombre es Mairim, y recientemente recibí uno de los diagnósticos más difíciles: Linfoma no Hodgkin Difuso de Células Grandes Inmunofenotipo B, un tipo de cáncer que afecta el sistema linfático y requiere un tratamiento agresivo e inmediato para recuperarme.

En el mes de abril se me diagnosticó con una trombosis venosa profunda entre la subclavia y axila izquierda lo que me llevo a realizar diversos exámenes y rayos x, en el proceso descubrieron que tenía un trombo embolismo pulmonar por lo que me realice un estudio llamado angiotomografia, el cuál arrojó un ensanchamiento de mediastino anterior y medio que genera compresión de las estructuras vasculares y se vio un micronodular del lóbulo inferior izquierdo, por sugerencia del cirujano de tórax me sometí a una pequeña intervención quirúrgica llamada toracoscopia para obtener una muestra de los ganglios inflamados, en dicha biopsia se observó hallazgo de linfoma pero que debía ser estudiada la muestra a profundidad por lo que se realizó una inmunohistoquímica obteniendo como resultado mi diagnóstico actual que es "Linfoma no hodking difuso de células grandes inmunofenotipo B", ya estoy en control con un oncólogo con una quimio provisional y ya la hematologa especialista en linfomas ha indicado el protocolo que debo seguir.

En Venezuela, acceder a un tratamiento completo de quimioterapia, exámenes especializados y medicamentos esenciales es casi imposible sin apoyo externo. El costo total estimado de todo el proceso (exámenes, medicamentos, hospitalizaciones, y posibles complicaciones) supera los 15.000 dólares.

Help Mairim Fight Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma

Hi, my name is Mairim Camargo, and I’m reaching out with a heart full of hope during one of the most difficult moments of my life. I’ve recently been diagnosed with Diffuse Large B-Cell Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma, a fast-growing cancer that affects the lymphatic system and requires immediate, aggressive treatment to give me a real chance at recovery.

My health journey began in April, when I was diagnosed with deep vein thrombosis between my left subclavian and axillary veins. As doctors ran more tests, they found a pulmonary embolism, a serious and life-threatening complication. A CT then revealed an abnormal enlargement in the anterior and middle mediastinum, compressing key vascular structures. They also found a micronodule in the lower lobe of my left lung.

Following a thoracic surgeon’s advice, I underwent a thoracoscopy, a minor surgical procedure, to collect samples from the swollen lymph nodes. The initial biopsy suggested lymphoma, and after further testing, including an immunohistochemistry study, the diagnosis was confirmed: Diffuse Large B-cell Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma.

I’m now under the care of an oncologist with a provisional chemotherapy regimen, and the hematologist who specializes in lymphomas has already indicated the protocol I should follow.

Unfortunately, I live in Venezuela, where access to the necessary chemotherapy, diagnostic tests, and life-saving medications is incredibly limited and often unavailable without private funding. The full treatment plan including medications, specialized tests, hospital stays, and possible complications is estimated to cost more than $15,000.
