Hello! My name is Rebecca Le Maitre, a past pupil of Buckland School.

I’m excited (and a little nervous!) to be taking on the Velocity Zipline at Penrhyn Quarry, North Wales, on 11th October 2025. This is not only the longest zipline in Europe, but supposedly the fastest zipline in the world! I’ll be soaring through the air (in a superman pose!) at speeds of up to 100mph!

I thought doing this would also be the perfect opportunity to fundraise for The Buckland School Trust (TBST), which supports children in their early development and gives them the chance to enjoy some truly special experiences. This is very close to my heart — it would be so lovely to give something back to the school that helped shape my own early years and gave me a strong start in life.

The mission of TBST is to help every child at Buckland grow, learn and flourish through enriched opportunities and resources. The Charity has contributed to Residential trips at Woodlands Outdoor Education Centre & visits to Abingdon Science labs, helped enable fun in-school activities such as African drumming workshops, facilitated the construction of a school pond for the study of wildlife and much more.

Every donation, big or small, will go directly towards helping the next generation of Buckland pupils grow, thrive, and create memories that will last a lifetime.
