On November 30, 2020 heaven gained a beautiful angel. Velino Herrera gained his heavenly wings after battling a courageous fight of ALS for 5 years. Not only was he an amazing father and daddy, but he was a dedicated teacher to where he served 15 years at the Imperial Unified School district where he impacted hundreds of students lives. Velino LOVED being a teacher so much and he loved his students dearly. Velino was not only knows as “Mr. H” at IHS and Frank Wright, but he was also known as Coach. He was a middle school coach where he shared his passion and coached along with his wife Valerie. One of Velino’s happiest accomplishments was sharing the IHS field where he coached the Boys Varsity soccer team.❤️

Velino leaves behind a wife (Valerie) and two beautiful strong and courageous children ages 7(Mateo) and 4 (Macie). Their lives have been changed for ever and we ask for any contribution to help with Velino’s funeral expenses. As Velino would say often, “live the good life, because tomorrow is never promised”.
