Velasquez/Reyes Family Tragedy

On January 31st, a close friend to the Winery and former line cook at our Gabriel Archer Tavern, Jose Velasquez passed away suddenly in his sleep at the age of just 40. Jose leaves behind his wife Mayra, also an employee of the Winery, who is 8 months pregnant, their 4 year old daughter, and 6 year old son. Jose had an unwavering sense of joy and enthusiasm about him that would permeate whatever space he occupied. He was a kind friend, valued colleague, and a loving husband and father who will be deeply missed.

It's truly unimaginable to comprehend what Mayra and her family are going through at this time. Not only is she dealing with the pain of losing her husband and father to their children, she's also weeks away from welcoming a new baby girl into the world, a world without her father. We are setting up a Go Fund Me to do what we can to alleviate the financial stress on her and their family in this tragic situation. All monies raised from  this drive will go directly to Mayra to assist with funeral expenses and to provide support for their family as she prepares to have their daughter in March.

Jose dedicated his professional life to serving others, we hope our community will do the same for his family at this desperate time of need. We encourage you to share the link and Mayra's story with anyone who might be willing and able to help.
