Vehicles For The Salmonberry Boys
Hey guys, David and Alex here:
in this last week we lost our OG van, “Tulip” (who literally ran the first Salmonberry CSA delivery) after her windows were smashed and several parts were stolen out from under the hood. Just this morning, we woke up to find that our lil Honda Civic that Alex had just gotten from his grandmother and driven up the coast from Southern California has been stolen, leaving us without a car while our only remaining Salmonberry van is currently in the shop.
We want to ask our community for help. As you know, the two of us run a small farm-to-table bakery whose side gig is supporting small farms and building a new food system that lifts up and nourishes our community.
As small business owners, our “business vehicles” are most often our personal vehicles. We’re reaching out to y’all to help fundraise for personal vehicles so we can bounce back as fast as possible and continue to do our work at Salmonberry connecting nearby family farmers to us all here in town.
Help us by donating to our Go Fund Me: we will be using all the funds to buy personal, secure, around-town hustle mobiles to get us around on our 24/7 grind and continue to pour ourselves into supporting and building up our local farms and small food system. $10,000 would safely help us get one vehicle, and any more would go towards a second one. We increased our goal to 15,000 after talking to the used dealership that was recommended to us from small business friends (see update).
You can also help us through our website, Salmonberry , by signing up for the Salmonberry Farm Box, Salmonberry Essentials and more and spreading the word about our small bakery’s work.
It's been a crazy difficult year between Covid-19, multiple health scares across the families and a series of thefts and break-ins. Thanks so much for your time and for your ever-loving support.
Locally yours,
David & Alex
