A Place to Play

The Pre-K students at Vegas Verdes Elementary School deserve a safe place to run. Vegas Verdes is a Title I school in Las Vegas, Nevada. Because of the low socioeconomic status of the families in our neighborhood all our students qualify for free lunch. We know from reading early childhood research that students with the opportunity and support to build on motor skills are more successful in developing academic skills. So by providing students with gross motor activities we are building skills to help our students grow into healthy and active adults. The students at Vegas Verdes need a safe place to run and build their gross motor skills. Due to the small confines of our playground and the 150 students using it daily, grass has not be able to survive. We would like to replace the dirt where our grass should be with artificial grass. This would provide a safe space that promotes movement and exploration. Your generous donations will go toward laying artificial grass and creating a safe area that promotes active engagement in gross motor activities.

Thank you!
