This past year, my dear friend Bianca had to put down her beloved pet dog, Vegas, due to kidney failure. Vegas was the sweetest puppy to the very end, full of energy and love. Vegas' passing is nearly four years after the passing of Louie, Bianca's brother and original owner of Vegas. There is some comfort in knowing that Vegas will be reunited with his dad.

At the time that I initiated this fundraiser, Bianca had been dealing with the threat of being laid off from her job and having to pay out of pocket for Vegas' remaining hospital bills and cremation services. I had asked people to donate in order to reimburse Bianca for the cremation services, an urn, any memorial mementos she wishes, and hopefully a financial cushion while she sought a new job. However, given that she is financial stable, Bianca would like to transform this temporary fundraiser into an ongoing memorial charity fund in honor of Vegas.

The proceeds gathered here will be donated to PetVets of Oak Park. Bianca would love to make this an ongoing/annual donation fundraiser.
