My name is Lina Mayorga and I am a fashion design student at Parsons the New School for Design. For my senior thesis, I need to create a collection of 6 looks. This must include research, design, complete garments, photoshoots, linesheets, lookbooks, accessories, and presentations.
Since I became vegan, my thoughts about the vegan world have evolved and I am more compassionate about our fauna and flora. This is why for my thesis I wanted to explore and design a completely vegan eveningwear collection. I want to break the standards and stereotypes that exist in sustainable and organic clothing. Our culture is currently very health conscious, let's get clothes conscious too!
Who says sustainable clothes need to be bland and dull? I want to create garments that are vegan, elegant and edgy. This process is very long (I will be hand dying all the materials) and requires a lot of supplies and money.
