Dear Vega Family,
We humbly come to you in this time of need to simply ask for your continued support that you have so graciously provided since the moment we came into the community. As we all know, Covid-19 has taken a financial toll on many businesses across the nation. Many businesses have reopened, albeit in some sort of modified fashion. Unfortunately, Vega hasn't been one of them. With bar closures happening again all throughout Florida, there doesn't seem to be an end in sight. It has now been 108 days since we have been able to open our doors. That means for over 3 months the loyal, reliable, and friendly staff you all have grown to love, have not been able to have a reliable source of income. Some of our staff has been able to receive unemployment benefits from the state but that will soon come to an end. A few of our staff has been able to work some hours at our retail store but there simply isn’t enough hours to share with everyone.
We completely understand that many people are experiencing financial hardships during these hard times. All of the Vega team has debated back and forth if it was justified for us to ask for financial assistance from our community. Every single one of us has exhausted all measures before seeking this route. Ultimately, we felt we needed to do something. 100% monies raised will be distributed amongst our 8 team members. We also have started a carry-out cocktail program to help supplement income to the staff, but it greatly falls short of what our staff needs. Our goal is simply to offer support to our incredible bartenders, for without them, Vega would not be what it is. If you’re able to contribute anything, we greatly appreciate it. Any contribution will give you a free cocktail when we can reopen. Its a small gesture to say thank you for helping our team. Nobody knows when we will be able to reopen our doors again, we can only hope that it will not be another 108 days before we will be able to bless our community with the finest old fashioned's in town (ha!)
