I'm a lifelong Texan, and I'm trans. I'm moving to Portland, Oregon in search of safety, acceptance, and the chance to just be. Every day in Texas has felt like a battle just to exist. I'm tired—tired of fear, tired of being marginalized for who I am.

This move is one of the hardest things I’ve ever done. I’m going with almost nothing, but with hope that in Portland, I can find a place where people live and let live.
