On 2nd January 2021, at a hospital in Pune, Yuvacharya Shubhamji Maharaj departed this earthly life. She was suffering from liver disease. Whilst she was in Rajgir, Bihar, she could not be diagnosed properly, nor subsequently treated, due to lack of diagnostic facilities.
She was brought to Pune too late. Her life could not be saved.
Sadly, this too could be the fate of many others who are living in poverty and rural areas, facing multiple challenges and discrimination in living their lives.
Veerayatan, a leading NGO, has been working tirelessly for the past 50 years in this holy land of Mahavir to uplift the lives of its disadvantaged people. With the blessings and under the direction of Pujya Acharya Shri Chandanaji Maharaj, Veerayatan has for the last 40 years been running Netra Jyoti Seva Mandiram, which is probably the largest eye hospital in rural India successfully providing cataract and other surgeries to millions.
As diagnosis is the key first step to organising effective treatment for those who are ill, Pujya Acharyashri has made a firm resolve to develop, equip and make available for the benefit of the poor and disadvantaged people of Bihar a modern diagnostic centre within the Veerayatan campus in Rajgir.
Veerayatan is now embarking on this new project to create the diagnostic centre.
All donations, whatever the size, are welcomed and will make a huge difference to someone who is in need.
