My name is Joshua and I'm deeply saddened to announce the passing of my mother, Veeda Greer. I feel numb and broken. Everyone is trying to process what happened. All my mom wanted was to be with her family. She recently settled into a home out here in California. She frequently offered a weekend getaway from the fast-paced nature of Los Angeles and I always mentioned how busy I was to travel out there. I finally got a chance to visit our new home but she was no longer there.

Growing up me and my siblings learned to become self-reliant at a young age, even to this day I avoid asking for help. But we need help. Since her passing, her neighbors have repeatedly broken into her home and stolen her checks, forged checks in her name, stolen documents and personal property. And this was before we even got a chance to bury her! I've reached out to her life insurance policies and they've all lapsed back in 2019. My sister and I barely get by as it is and once our mother passed it really set us back financially. Looking back, we should have been more conservative in our funeral arrangements, but having a burial was something our mother deserved but we couldn't afford.
