Trying not to become homeless!

About us: I am a 50-year-old single female. My 3 children are grown and on their own, so it's just me and the boys (2 dogs), who are Collin, 15 ¾ years, and Oliver, 7 ½ years. The boys are my lifeline, heart, and soul. Without them, I would be completely lost!

Why we need help: I have never been one to ask for help. I've always had the state of mind and attitude, after being a single mom with 3 kids, that I will figure this out and I've got this. Unfortunately, this time, I don't got this! I have had the hardest year. I lost my job in Sept 2024 due to downsizing and finally found full-time work again in April 2025. I was so excited I was finally going to be able to slowly get caught back up and quit getting those bill collection phone calls, but that hope was quickly dashed! On May 31, I went to the ER for extreme abdominal pain and poof, I was in surgery within 4 hours. It should have been a simple surgery, except my heart stopped during, and what should have been a quick recovery forced me off work for 3 months due to a prior heart attack and other cardiac complications. My job couldn’t wait for me to come back as they needed someone to do my job. I get it. Now my lease is up Sept. 9, and my landlord isn’t renewing because he wants to sell the unit and has given me until Oct. 13 to vacate. Without help, me and my 2 dogs will be homeless by mid-Oct! I have tried everything, including applying for housing, but I don’t qualify, and the waitlist is extremely long! I need 1st month's rent, security deposit, pet deposit, and moving costs.
