Hi my name is Angela. I am 59 years old, a retired nurse.
I began my nursing career in February 1986.
After covid I retired mainly due to prolapsed discs in my back. I carried on working 24 hours a week doing bank nursing on the ward I had been based on. One Saturday at work I didn’t feel well. Thought I might have a stomach ulcer. The following Tues I was diagnosed with a tumour on my tail of pancreas. By the Friday I was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer with spread to the liver.
For past 18 months I have been having chemotherapy.
Now my husband and I have had a consultation with a German surgeon who is agreeable to operating on me with the hope of getting rid of the cancer.
We can find some of this through our savings but not all.
