Helping Chris get through MD Anderson

Many of you probably don’t know yet but our dad, Chris Fowler, was diagnosed with cancer in his lymph node last week. This is news no one ever expects and rarely plans for when one lives paycheck to paycheck. Our dad is the sole provider for his family and the financial impact is scarier to him than the actual cancer and treatment. He can’t focus on getting well while he is worrying that his family will not be able to afford the basic necessities, much less the gas, food, deductible/out-of-pocket expenses that will be incurred for his travel and treatment to Houston at MD Anderson. He has to pay almost $1,000 upfront just to walk through the door. If you know our dad, you know that he is the most humble, sincere, and genuine human you could ever meet. He’d give you the shirt (an Alabama one, of course) off his back if anyone needed it. If you can help at all, this will help alleviate the worry that is weighing heavily on his mind and allow him to concentrate his energy on getting the treatment he needs and getting well. His appointments start next week and they will require several day’s stay at a hotel, food expenses, etc. Even a small amount is a prayer answered for our family.
