Vecidahh’s Surgery

Hi, my name is Yesenia and I have created this GoFundMe for my pet Vecidahh's surgery. In 2013 Vecidahh was found roaming around my neighborhood starved dehydrated and wounded for days before she followed my sister hoping to get helped. We took her in bathed and fed her. We created a new and safe environment where she can call home. We have been inseparable ever since. She is the sweetest kindest little dog fox. She is so innocent and doesn’t deserve what is happening to her. My dog has a fatty tumor that could be cancerous the size of a tennis ball in between her tail and bum. I had taken her to the vet at (Vet 1) animal hospital, (a consultation is $70) and they refused to do surgery on her because of the size and location of the tumor. They referred me to take her to (Vet 2) Veterinary Specialty Center. (A simple consultation runs you 200$) The vet knew taking her there would be expensive and told me my dog was in no pain and she was fine to live without surgery unless it were to burst in the future. I was happy to hear that and didn’t have to go through with surgery in the Specialty Center. Two weeks later I wake up to puddles and puddles of blood surrounding my room, beds, and blankets. My dog chewed through her tumor. I took her to the vet, and they prescribed antibiotics, pain medication and a cone to put on her head to prevent her from biting herself again. That trip alone was $171. They also let me know if I wanted to go to the Specialty Center because my dog will continue to mess with her wound if it’s not taken care of. I went to the Specialty Center where they said they could go through with the surgery, but it would difficult because of the location. It might interfere with her intestines. There is also a big chance she might lose her beautiful tail during surgery. They also did claim that she wasn’t in pain. Overall, the surgery cost is $6,000. Three times more than the surgery she had two and a half years ago for the same tumor that came back. I decided to go back to the surgeon who did her first surgery which was in the (Vet3) Animal Hospital, and he also said that he is not willing to the surgery because of not having the proper equipment and how severe the tumor has gotten. This vet did mention that my dog was very much in pain and that is why she is messed with her wound. The tissue inside of the tumor is dead and has caused so much pain and discomfort. I believed him because he has much more experience than the other vets I have seen. Vecidahh is more than a dog to me she is family, my roommate, and my support. I don’t want this potential cancer to spread, I want the pain to go away. Every night she suffers and bleeds and looks at me thinking when will it go away. I’ve had several people telling me to put my dog to sleep. And that is not something I’m willing to do. She might be 14 years old, but she has a heart of a puppy. I’m hoping with the help and a speedy recovery I am able to throw her a birthday party and celebrate her another year. Thank you for reading this. Anything helps. We appreciate you from the bottom of our hearts. Thank you.                             -Yesenia and Vecidahh <3
